Aided by Gregory Peck's strong but heartfelt presence among a wonderful supporting cast, interesting photography and Elmer Bernstein's flourishing score the film rightly deserves the constant praise it receives. It suffers a bit from too many caricatures but its timeless message still holds up till this very day and that's what the main focus should be for maximum enjoyment.
