An evil Djinn is imprisoned for centuries within the jewel of an antique statue and accidentally released during its shipment overseas. I have fond memories of this one. The genie disguises himself as his victims (stealing faces a la Darkman) as he grants them wishes in exchange for their souls, with the ultimate goal of awakening Hell on earth. The fun comes in the way the Djinn turns people’s selfish and greedy wishes against them, to horrific effect.
